For what I am doing the standard case works great but the only issue i have is durability. Has anyone attempted to epoxy or fiberglass the foam case to keep it from getting damaged? Not sure of the type of foam used and if it would melt using standared fiberglass epoxies. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You could always test a small area of the foam on the inside to see if would melt the foam.

That is an option, I just did not want to be the first one to ruin the case and have to post one of those embarrassing, "Look why I did" videos.

True. What about finding some similar type of foam. Or sometimes people are just selling the foam box on eBay or Craigslist.
