I just brought a set of ND-PL filters, (these were the only ones I could get with ND2,4,8,16,32,64 and were the same price as standard ND filters) but the Polarising aspect is totally pointless in my opinion.
With Polarising filters they remove the glare produced by the sun, but you need to manually turn them to an exact rotation for them to be effective.
So lets say you are flying at 50 meters above a river and you want to remove the glare, how are you going to rotate the lens on the filter? that's right, you need to fly it back to yourself first, then alter, fly back to 50m, see if you got it right (which you wouldn't have) fly it back to yourself, alter the lens again, try again and again and again. etc etc you might finally get lucky and get the exact rotation required but its going to be pure luck and just a waste of time and battery IMO.
I would just try to get a good set that has a good selection of ND2-64 filters. |
