Yesterday I did the firmware update with the DJI Assistant for the first time, then the two additional batteries one after the other.
I think it's easier with the DJI Assistant.
But when I plug in the USB cable with the connected Mavic Mini on the PC, the Explorer opens and not the wizard. If I connect first the USB cable to the PC and then only connect USB-C to the Mavic Mini, it works, the program starts.
What is the DJI Assistant and where do you get it from? I have never connected my MM to my laptop but any time it tells me it needs an update I just download it OTA. I wonder if there are some other features of this

Its not a USB C on the back of the Mini its the micro USB as found on all DJI quads, and yes the DJI asst is always easier to use as its more stable than using the app, that said I have asked DJI why they still offer OTA (over the air) updates when the assistant should be used.
Oh and for those who havent used the assistant, it may take about 30 seconds before it spots a battery that hasnt got the matching Firmware on it.
and take note the assistant specfies that you launch the assistant then turn on the Mini and then plug it into the PC
