The original Air is an absolute work horse! I have punished mine to the point that I wouldn't blame it if it ran away from home. Over 750,000 flight feet on it. Lost it in a snow bank for three days the winter before last. And since they've gone down in price now I think you made a great choice. My advice? Get a skin for it. Line of sight is important. As sexy as it is, you can lose it pretty quick in the sky. Mine is bright red. It really helps.
They come black from the factory. No other option. So look for an after market skin. They're only 20-25 bucks. Plus they help protect it from scratches and stuff. Decal Girl is where I go.
Enable beginner mode, if not enabled already. It takes things nice and slow and the drone can never get to far away from you.
Practice bringing the drone back to land using the sticks, don't rely on the return to home, which has limitations. (read up in the manual).
You have a flight distance of 126000 feet, previous owner?
Take it slow if you have never operated a drone before. Remember that is an expensive flying camera. I would avoid wooded areas and water at first.I would also advise reading the manual, lots of important stuff in there.
Practice, practice, practice. If you are using it for video, practice how to fly it smoothly. Beware of cell tower and interference message. I flew mine yesterday and I still love it.
