Is there a way to subscribe to a thread other than replying on it, so you can receive notification of new posts on the thread.
I looked around, but couldn't find a way to do it.

I’ve not seen a way to do that. And replying alone won’t get you notified of all posts either.

There is a category on the Personal Homepage listed as Favorite.
I don't know if it is related to that, but I don't find a way of marking a thread as favorite either.

If you have Internet Explorer, you can add the page as a favorite.

Yes. You can do that with pretty much every browser creating bookmarks. However, must of the forums that I participate in have a way for you to subscribe to a thread and receive notifications on new posts without having to reply on that thread.
