Have you try activating the drone with the DJI Assistant for MAvic Air 2 ? If not try to activate it using your phone connected to your cellular network LTE.

I think they’re lying about the stolen drone bit. This drone is brand new, I bought from B&H, an authorized retailer, I have this problem. They’re saying the drone was stolen to take blame off them.

This might be an issue with B&H’s stock. Perhaps DJI didn’t record the SN of their batch. Seems like everyone with this issue got them from B&H

Just got off online chat with DJI. They could not determine the problem and said my options were an exchange/refund with BHphoto or send it to DJI for a diagnosis. I specifically asked if this could be an issue with BH's stock, but they said it was a random issue.
Already started the exchange with BH. Then I'll need to have DJI move my DJI Care to the new drone.
Horrible experience for my first ever drone purchase. And even worse by not having it available for footage of my fishing vacation with my son and elderly father.

I have the same issue with my Mavic Air 2 that I just tried to activate for the first time - but with error code OXFFE. I contacted customer support chat and after about 2 hours I finally got a rep. They took my serial number and asked for the error code. He couldn’t figure out the problem and offered a return/replacement. They are mailing me a shipping label in 2 business days and said I can expect the replacement transaction to take 2-3 more business days to complete after that. This does not include the shipping time back and forth. This sucks!!! ...I waited 2 weeks to get it after ordering 5 minutes after it was released and now it looks like it will be another 2 weeks at least to get one that hopefully works. Not a good way to start a relationship with a new customer DJI.

I have been speaking to DJI Facebook support for the last hour - they said they need 24 - 48 hours to get back to me as they have to pass on to somebody else on a case by case basis.

To make things even better - I have this issue too: https://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=214934

Refund requires me to email support with a 24 - 48 hour response time.

It's quicker for me to go to Argos and pick a new one up after 4pm and try again, just hope that I actually get a refund...

I’d urge everyone to contact news sites that report on DJI/drones and explain the issue and DJI’s refusal to explain the problem and give a solution. That will put pressure on them to fix their damn servers...

I'm getting the same issue, new Mavic air 2 from drone nerds (authorized seller) . I have to believe the servers are down or something, there are too many of us getting these activation errors. I'm trying to activate on Android, error 1112.

Any progress or suggestions regading the 0xffe issue which I notified yesterday. I really don’t think this is a hardware fault with the drone. I have updated firmware using DJI Fly and also DJI Assistant 2 with no difference to the outcome. My serial no. Is 1WNBH4F00201VM.
