With this being the successor to the mavic air, will we get gesture control with smart capture?  Would love to be able to take some great group selfies like with the mavic air.  Anyone have any input?

No gesture control for air 2. It upped the game, it's no longer a toy.

You can still do it, just set 5 second timer leave down Remote and you’re done.

It sometimes was a bit embarrassing waving or making shapes to take photo. I always found you couldn’t be sure camera was reading and just when you tried a second time shutter would click and you had hands in front of your face.

Lol! Yeah with the spark that happened to me all the time!  But I don’t see an issue with DJI allowing you to at least use your phone as a remote. This way you can set the timer and put the phone in ur pocket.  So maybe no gesture is needed but then why not being able to use the phone as a remote? That seems super convenient for your less pro situation photos!

I think DJI should allow control of the drone with just the phone at least.

You'd need a phone with Occusync 2.0 on it.  The reason you could fly the Air and (maybe) the Mini with your phone is it uses the same Wifi as your phone.

No you could also fly Mavic pro1 with phone only. Although no one ever did and that was Ocysync 1
