Is there a way to remove the 400 foot height limit?

It is a user configurable limit, because there are some cases where flying higher than 400 feet is legal (eg: flying in the vicinity of a tall building or radio tower).

In the app, but you can’t go above unless you agree to take the hit if anything goes wrong.

1640' is the limit if I remember correctly.

The 400ft limit is AGL based on where you take off so there's not a lot of need to disable this unless you're flying up a cliff.

Also don't use RTH if you change this.
Some people just fly up to 1000ft up a mountain and then hit RTH.
You have to follow the 400ft rule on the way back also.

Exactly. Recipe for disaster.

I’m sure if you go and ask your local law enforcement agency, they'd be happy to tell you how to do this

This is correct.

I set my limit to 400meters to fly UP this valley.  At the start of this video I was at 1100ft above take off point......but never over 300ft agl.

Very sure, 500 feet is only 152 meters.
In Italy we dont't use feet.

Don't get caught at 500 metres AGL it will be a bad day.

really needget well over 400m im koori decent and the burn offs are being started too late i see bad fire disasters aheah neead atb leasy 5000m height for gov proof of my concept

Some of us actually do fly up cliffs, like I did today and I hit the 400' limit.

Can somebody confirm how to remove this? With my Phantom 4 in the DJI Go app there was a way to remove this, but I can't find it in the DJI Fly app.

You just go to Menu, Safety and slide in a higher max altitude.
