I updated the FW on my P3A earlier this week. At that time I only had one battery.

After the update (I also did the remote) I removed the .bin file and the associated txt files.

Today I recieved spare batteries, and as I understand it I need to update the FW on them.

My question is ...

Do I just need to put the .bin file back on the SD card and power up the P3A with the new batteries (After charging of course) and the unit will see there is no need to update the FW in the P3A and just update the battery FW if needed?

No firmware updates have been released for batteries yet.

It's a good idea to keep the latest firmware on the root of your memory card. That way, when an update is available, it'll be installed on your battery the next time you fly. If you don't want to keep the firmware on your memory card, then start up your Phantom with each battery and remove the firmware from the memory card when done.

I assume the P3A will ignore the file if not needed?
Does this check increase 'boot' time?

Yes, it'll ignore it. It does not increase the startup time.
