Hello everyone, today I wanted to do a distance test with my mini (mini CE version) and I was pleasantly surprised the mini is on the latest firmware with nothing more. I'm just a novice and I still make a lot of mistakes I guess I let you watch the screenshot unfortunately I forgot to record from the start but there is the return trip. sorry for my bad english.

I think I could have gone further, but that is more than enough for me, I am in a region which is not too subject to interference, this may not be the case for all pilots. But I admit that I sweated very hard so that everything goes well

Thank you, as I said above I think I am in an area which is not subject to much interference I have not yet had or really very little signal loss problem, except once but this 'was my fault because I put my Mavic mini behind a castle while wanting to go around (luckily for me I had put enough height on the RTH and the drone went home all alone) it will be necessary that I am testing the drone in another region, and it is quite possible that I cannot fly it very far too.

I noticed that your orientation/direction indicator at the bottom center is not working well. Does your device not have a built-in magnetic sensor (compass)?

By the way, your English is just fine...far better than most in the USA ;-)

Thank you, indeed I am using a xiaomi mi pad 4 wifi and this one does not have a gps module and a built-in magnetic sensor, it works with the cached data that I preloaded before the flight, but that day I did not think not go that far and I guess the data cache was not enough

Cached data is not the cause as far as I know. This is about compass features as well as GPS, letting you know which way you are facing in relation to the drone. To do so, both compasses must work (device and drone), as well as both GPS's.

I would not worry too much about it. I used my Mini for months without that indicator working and survived ;-)

Ok, thank you for the information, I understand better, this flight was an exception I would not do a flight like this often, but it's very pleasant to fly the MM with a tablet instead of a phone.

I definitely agree about using a tablet with larger screen (but then I am a 72 year old fart ;-). I swapped my 5" screen phone with a compass for an 8"screen tablet without a compass and was happy with the decision.

Welcome to the Mini forum. Thanks for letting us fly along. I think you did well for acknowledging  your screen alerts which IMO is a good thing until you gain more comfort in flying your Mini.

Bonjour. Félicitations d'avoir testé le Mini à fond (ou prèsque!) Faites attention de lancer l'aeronef contre le vent, puis pour le retour les moteurs auront moins de difficulté de ramener la machine au point du départ sans risque d'épuiser la batterie. Bien cordialement.

Merci pour vos conseils , se jour là j'ai profiter qu'il n'y avait pas de vent et puis c'était juste pour voir au premier avertissement je me suis arrêter , je ne le ferrai pas tous le temps . Merci
