What I'm looking at doing is to see if the earlier firmware for the Inspire 1 can be re-installed to restore the longer range communications of both control and video.
I can get FCC licensed for operation as to not be doing anything illegal, so that isn't a issue.
From the posting earlier today in regards to using a developer software, there are ways to down grade the firmware for the Phantom 3.
I suspect that the same thing can be done with the Inspire. Not looking at using non licensed frequencies, but at the reduction in power previously output on the Inspire. I'll be licensed for the higher power output.

1) Is V01.01.1003 a beta version for the Phantom3 P or A ?
2) Did the poster made a test himself and downgraded the way as described ?
3) What about DJI Pilot app. Is latest version downward compatible ?
