I think this update is awesome u can actually read telemetry and not only do u have drop down for battery stats but going into the safety tab will give u more battery information! Also the extra gimbal features are sick! It will let u adjust sensitivity for each flight mode!
<SARCASM> Because they can. It's like holding a steak in front of a dog. <SARCASM> A serious answer is DJI likes to do a gradual rollout in case there are any issues with the release.

Anybody in the UK seen this version on Android yet? Flew the mini today been a while, had a message about IMU warm up I hadn't seen before, phone still showing 1.1.5 but looking forward to some gimbal adjustment on Air2.
I saw this while searching. Looks like Android users can download the v1.1.6 apk and install manually if it's not yet on your app store. I haven't tried it because I no longer used my Android for flying.

Got tired waiting and did the apk download a couple of hours ago. Really looking forward to testing the new gimbal settings in the morning. I was able to adjust the pitch in Tripod pod to be buttery smooth with a range from slow to an almost imperceptible movement.
I tried installing the apk manually. Had to uninstall v1.5 first. Got a brief look on the new version, better battery icon, gimbal settings and so forth, before somehow it got auto reverted to v1.5. Might have been google play protect or something. I dunno ;)

Highly DON'T recommend to install any app's outside the Google store. There might be virus inside. Please keep this in mind !!!
Done a couple of sideloads from apkmirror with no issues. I even uploaded FLY version 1.1.4. As long as you stay with mainline apps, like DJI, you should be OK and apkmirror validates the uploads. From their FAQ -
We make sure that the cryptographic signatures for new versions of all previously published apps match the original ones, which means we know if uploaded APKs were signed by the real devs or someone pretending to be them.
Note: APKMirror.com has been protected from the Janus vulnerability in Android from day one.

I'm an app developer myself. And yes that can be true if the signature does not match the official one but apkmirror is a known site that keeps archives of official apks. But yeah it's still good to be cautious and if you are patient enough to wait for the official release in your country then don't do this. But if you are eager to see the new release for the sake of curiosity then it's good to have this.

Yeah, Google also validate their app store but how many times I heard recently they had to remove thousands of application's from their store because of infected apps
Using the new colors on the icons sure make them more visible, will see how it look when I go outside to fly, the display is also the same on the MM. Not sure if there are any other mods on the MM
To make it easy to down load the APP here is the OR code for ver 1.16 enjoy

Some of us have no choice. One of my tablets is not even close to being approved by DJI. An apk is the only way to update it.
Did a quick set of test shots with the new Advanced Gimbal Settings yesterday to see how slow and smooth I can get shots to be. Subjects are just saplings (I know uninspiring), but they did provide good structure to test against without putting the MA2 in danger versus a tall tree, statue, etc. I have to say on just the first flight, I'm starting to get that floating effect that I wasn't able to before. More flights and adjustments and I should be able to achieve some nice ultra smooth movements.
Yaw Pitch Advanced Gimbal Settings Test For Fly app Version 1.1.6
Though 1.1.6 is not an official release yet, this guy downloaded it and goes through the MA2 specific parts, concerning the gimbal fine tuning, in al three flight modes
Not available yet in the UK for my Samsung Galaxy S9 and S20+, however something is moving as Google Play is showing latest version 1.1.5 with a release data of 31st July.... 1.1.5 was released in June.
