I received my M100 this morning and the build was relatively easy.  The manual does not talk about removing the rear LED but you really have to do that.  Also mine came with the battery tray mounted already.  You also have to remove that to get to the antenna connections.  The rest was straight forward.  Note that the screws that held the craft together when removed did not show signs of loctite.  It may have been there but I relplaced them all with new screws with the DJI applied loctite.  The kit includes everything that you need even the tools and double stick tape.  I found the quality of the M100 to be outstanding.  CF, Aluminium, and composits.  It appears that most components should be easily replaced with the exception of the Arms,  They contain a vibration isolation liner inside the tube that may make it difficult to replace the tube it self.  I have not taken it apart as this is one of a few in the US right now.  I have the guidance system but lack the mounting brackets.  Once I get them I will be able to test that system.  I am also missing the gimbal mounting kit.  I have an Inspire camera so I am ready to go once I get the kit, I can connect it.

More after the maiden tomorrow.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Here is a video from Blade Strike on his maiden.  He had a cameraman on the cell phone.  I was not as lucky.

Here is my crappy video.  That M100 is much better than what my video shows.

We are both waiting for the brackets to mount the guidance system and the gimbal mount.  It is so new we are just beginning to explore the possibilities.

Hi Ed, some questions.
1) Possible to link the Inspire1 Remote to the M100 ?
2) Same Pilot app as for the I1 and P3 ?

Hi Guys,

I'm new here, so please forgive any stupidity or ignorance on my part.  I'm about to put my M-100 order in.  Has anyone contemplated putting DJI DropSafe Speed Reduction System on the m-100?  is this even possible?

Thanks!

Hello Tahoe_Ed,

I was wondering what your connection is with DJI, becaurse you deleted my post (canopy for the M100) as moderator for this forum.
We are Beta-tester for the M100, and could test it for some weeks now. We have deveoped a thermal Setup, beside that we designed a Canopy for the M100.
Just thought would be nice to show it on this forum, but it looks like you see this as SPAM ?
What did I wrong?

Best Regards,
Roger

Roger, I am a DJI employee.  What we are trying to do is be consistent.  If we allow you to show your products then we would have to allow others.  I apologize for the confusion.

Thank you Ed for your answer, I’ll keep that in mind and only talk about Technical questions in the future.
The M100 is a fabulous machine, especially to design new applications and products for.
We want to use it for Industrial use, and non-UAV specialists, so a good Canopy against first raindrops, dust and wire protection is indispensable in our case.
Because DJI doesn’t have a Canopy for the M100, I thought it was no advertisement/spam, it could only help DJI to sell more M100.
So that was my confusion, but no problem and thank you again.

The price is a little high for a basic unit. I can understand the price for the Inspire as it is a complete unit but the M100.

Just my opinion.

You are not the target market.  This is primarily for developers and experimenters.  The Inspire and the P3 are a better choice for most users.
