I use Final Cut Pro for Mac, And Vegas Pro 13 Suite on PC you will be able to do much more with the professional softwares. But it comes with a big price tag. If you are not into professional film making than there are other good softwares out there. Vegas studio is great for the novice if you have PC. And Mac has Imovie.
Final Cut Pro X with CoreMelt's free GoPro Fisheye Plugin. The plugin has a manual setting that works well with the Phantom 2 Vision+ camera if you have that as opposed to a GoPro. And for Photo I use Adobe Camera Raw and Aperture with PTLens Plugin for fisheye.
Actually Consumer Reports has some good comparison reviews for some of the products mentioned above. Since I am not a professional photographer and just use the videos for posting on our web page and YouTube channel, I found PowerDirector by CyberLink to be more than adequate and not expensive.
Like all manuals, it is detailed and lengthy. It is interactive. I retained an electronic version but also printed out and bound their manual.
