Here are the test footages of my Mavic Air 2 with Freewell's $40 anamorphic lens add-on. It works great with my MA2's gimble, way better than Moment's heavy and tricky anamorphic lens for my Mavic 2 Pro. My MA2 flew well with the add-on attached. No gimble error. Although I think Freewell's anamorphic lens is not a true anamorphic to be able to get the weight down to work with the gimble.

Video resolution is 2.7K. I used Davinci Resolve 16 free version to "De-Squeezed" this video, Although, there is not much squeezed in image when viewed in raw format. Have to experiment with Davinci Resolve 16's resolution formats to get the correct aspect ratio. I don't think it's true anamorphics, it's something a little wider than 1:78:1, hence, you will see not much letterboxing on a 16X9 monitor. I can get it to true 2:39:1 aspect ratio, but the image will look kind of weird with everything looked squashed.. So I went with 2804 x 1440 with 2:09:1 settings in the Davinci Resolve to get what you see on screen. You will most likely get better result with expensive video editing software, but for a $40 lens add-on that works with my Mavic Air 2's gimble and a free de-squeezing software, this is not bad. Edit: Sorry for the misunderstanding of aspect ratio. It's not 1:33 but 2:39:1 or something like that.

Actually, it would be best to shoot both on the same location / moment.
That way you get a good comparison.

It does look like it 'squeezed' the trees a bit (less long).
Is that part of the effect this lens gives?

Yes, this is the effects the Freewell's anamorphic lens have. I have tried different resolutions and aspect ratios, but the image still looked a bit squashed. Maybe I am using 2.7K instead of 4K causes this effect. I will have to try it in 4K.

I have seen some videos before of anamorphic lenses and they have 'a feel' but I'm not sure if that is because of the operator or because of the lens.
But so far I have never seen it on a drone.

One way to set your editing software to the right settings for anamorphic videos is to take a video clip of a circular object or drawing. Import this clip into your editor and adjust until you get a circle again.

Thanks for information Pappy3! I will need to find out how to do this on my free version of Davinci Resolve 16. I tried to do the circle plate thing after watching Captain Drone's video but I can't find the same setting on the DR 16 software.

At that softness of anamorphic, I would never be able to create a good video for commercial client...It looks like a total amateur video with lack of focusing... But this is a standard Anamorphic lens problem unfortunately...Maybe for hobby can be used in private vacations...But for sure is a NO for commercial.
