Simultaneously with the harvesting of the maize, shown in Part One, the storing of the feedstuff back at the farm is the next part of the process.
Still early on a misty, but rapidly clearing morning, I sped back to the farmyard to capture the proceedings.
Here are a few stills from that footage.Part three will (eventually) be the completed film of the whole morning.

Hi Daf. Yes the constant compression of the heavy tractor tyres removes most of the air and it forms a solid "clamp" which is then covered by a black impervious cover until needed.  You can see what's left of last year's store under black plastic.  It does ferment slightly over time, and has a slightly hoppy smell. It keeps the cattle fed over the winter, and there is a subtle difference to the taste of the dairy products from cattle fed during the winter, than that from grass-fed cows in the summer.

This one was a bit more tricky, because it was taken from a lower angle and there are parts that 'should' be in focus (because they are closer than the background) but overlap the background.
So I chose a front focussed approach. Where only the first layer is in focus.

No problem Monty I don't mind in the least. I personally am not a fan of this "Tilt Shift" effect, but obviously some of you are in favour.  Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks

When I was a kid, I always wanted to have one.
Actually I still do, but when we got kids I had to abandon at least one hobby.
And model railways was the victim.
So now I have to go to my dad or uncles to get some of that
Or make a TS version of a drone image

It's a cycle that repeats each year. Ploughing, manuring and tilling come next, Planting in April and harvesting in September.
