So.......

I sent my Phantom 4 Pro + in with an “Unknown SD Card Error”...

It’s not the card, because none of my cards work.

They repaired some small damage to the craft, I paid the Refresh fee after getting it back.... and guess what...

SD card error still exists.

Not only was I down the drone for over 2 weeks, losing business, now i don’t have a functioning drone.

Suggestions?

Negative... Didnt work.  DJI sat on the phone with me for an hour as well, and wont just admit the SD card reader if faulty.

Agree... they just told me to send it back again...

My question is, why wasn’t it fixed in the first place?

It’s like they didn’t even check the SD Card reader... I specifically said I’m getting a “SD CARD ERROR PLEASE REPLACE” message.

I’ve already lost a couple thousand dollars of business being out the Phantom....

Now I’ll be out the Phantom again.

It’s ridiculous, once again, DJI service is horrendous.

I know the feeling ... i was a similar issue with my camera , i was sent to Dji service in my Country , spain, drone back to me with the same problem , horizon Tilts when i turn the drone left or right ....

I checked the serial number with my drone I sent in, and they are different..... but I’m super confused, because what else could it be?

Why isn’t it working?

That tends to point the finger at the SD cards. What make are they?

They can point as many fingers as they want.

All of my SD cards worked a few weeks ago... then everything just stopped.

The SD cards work in my buddies Phantom, and they work in my Mavic Air 2.  It’s not the cards.

I don’t know.  Honestly, I think I just stuck them in when I bought them and used them.

Been using them for over a year, no issues.

I even used a Samsung 256GB UHS1 and it worked.

So I’m not really sure what the issue.

They are all formatted exFAT, so I am not sure the issue.  They all worked before.

It could be the controller itself?  Maybe... Its odd.

I put the SD card in the controller and it recognizes it.

DJI is just having me send the controller and the drone back.

DJI store hundreds of hidden files on the SD cards, and eventually the resultant fragmentation slows the cards so they do not work. The best thing to do is format the cards in the aircraft, and this removes all the rubbish files. But if the aircraft will not recognise the cards, then try formatrting them on a computer.

In trying to solve a problem, we need to get ride of the variables. The odds of it being the drone the sent you is big. I wouldn't think it is the drone they sent you. Multicable quality SD cards all being bad. Don't think so. That leaves you with the mobile, the cord and the controller. Have you change any of those out? The controller would be my guess.

Controller is my guess at this point as well.

I have the Smart Controller with the integrated screen.

So, I’m sending that back too.

That’s the specs of my cards.  They are all formatted, and all worked prior to two weeks ago.  Then everything just stopped working, all the cards.  They work in my friends Phantom 4 Pro.  They work in my Mavic Air 2.

Not really sure what the issue is.

Thanks for the additional info. You may try to refresh the latest firmware for the drone, if the error persists, please send the drone back again.

If you have changed to recording at 4K 60fps....this might be the issue.  MIGHT BE

You need a fast card to write 4K 60fps......  check your settings AFTER you format your empty card IN the AC.

Checked settings.  Even on 1080 it’s giving me the error.

It’s really mind boggling.

The Smart controller recognizes the SD cards, but when I put them in the craft, it says “SD Card error, please replace “.

Not sure if that could be the controller?

The cards aren’t the issue, they work in my buddies p4p.  We tried it to see if they would work.

They also work in my Mavic air 2.

You mention "my buddies P4P" - would he be happy to loan you his controller - you'd need to pair it to your A/C of course. You'd both need to be on the same version as well. That might rule out your controller.

If you're SD cards work in his P4P can he try formatting one in his phantom, then you see if yours can read that one?

As you've used care refresh, you have a replacement drone so the likelyhood of that too being at fault seems slim but your original machine may have damaged the SD cards in some way - do you have any that never got used in the original drone that you could try??

I’ve already sent it back with the controller this time.

They appear to not be charging me an extra refresh due to the issue still existing.
