So like we suspected and DJI confirming that it does work, though they stated it's only for the JP international version but looking at the two the JP is 199g and uses the same style battery as the mm1. DJI went on to say that using the mm1 battery would increase the weight and require registration, well it would be the same in the states then. He goes on to show it becomes 257g which is obviously over the 249g limit so you would have to register the drone, but you also acknowledge that the mini 2 will perform less then what it's currently rated for. Actually, if you look at the specs of the JP version it reflects the performance that you would see but cool none the less if you are an existing mm1 owner but Knowing DJI they will Patch this somehow.
