What's the point of having a drone now that I can't even fly it at home? It used to work now it doesn't. I guess that is what I get for buying from Chinese company.

Doesn't prevent you from flying it further away, where there's no risk to the safety of others.

If you live next to an airport you don't want to be flying around there.

You can always get permission to fly and then request an unlock.

You can fly any drone in your home as no aviation authority has control over your private space but as soon as you take it outside, even your garden, you need to follow the regulations of the FAA. It is not DJI (or any Chinese company) that makes these rules - it is your government.
