This looks exactly what we are looking and hoping DJI are going to provide.  Exiting stuff, auto flights, speed, auto camera triggering for still photographs, ground spacial distance to select more detailed images etc.

If DJI provide this level of detail for the Inspire, it will be worth all the waiting.  

Thanks! We have a couple of different apps in the works but figured we would get this one out there first since it compliments our map processing service nicely.

We are trying to get another video of the flight side of things posted but we destroyed our development Inspire pretty badly last weekend and are trying to put it back together still... To paraphrase Linolens "stuff do happen".  This was 100% user error in this case though.  The Inspire 1 has actually been rock solid during all of our testing.

We hope to have it publicly available soon.

So, out of interest, what is the ETA from Apple around app approval?  And, how long do you anticipate running the beta testing, before making it public?

The Standard Answer: We have no idea.  Apparently DJI and Apple still need to work out the whole made-for-Apple accessory issue.  They let DJI's app through, but I am not aware of anyone using the SDK actually getting through yet.

There are three approval processes that have to happen.  DJI has to grant the developer "Activations" which is essentially them giving you permission to release it.  

Next, there is the Apple Test Flight approval for external beta testing which is supposed to take less time, but still has to adhere to all of the Apple rules, and likely interface licensing issues.  

Then there is the normal Apple process for releasing an app to the public...

Lots of battles to be fought here.  We hope to get past the second stage soon as quickly as possible.
