I am planning to buy a MA2 and Smart Conroller.  I currently have a mini and use a dedicated iPhone XS Max with no SIM card for the controller.  I connect to my iPhone cell phone by Bluetooth so I have the Google Maps working on the DJ FLy App.  I am not interested in downloading maps every time I fly.

Can the Smart Controller connect by WiFi or BT to a cell phone for the real time mapping feature while flying also?

The SC uses an Android operating system, therefore the same functions as on other Android smartphones, currently v. 1.2.4
