Interesting. But the immediate question is how it is going to play along with the new EU regulations - that you can only fly in FPV (goggles) with a second VLOS spotter. What will be its weight, meaning which exams and licences you would need to pass and pay for? Will it get the new drone category labelling?
I am also curious as to the selection of rigid tri-blade props and the position of the camera at the level of the prop. The whole design of the Mavic line was to keep the props above the camera and out of sight as much as possible.
We have similar questions about it here in the US. It's still not clear that FPV is even legal at all here anymore after the Remote ID ruling. We're still waiting on clarification on that from the FAA (we expect it'll still be legal with a spotter).
Of course it'll have to be registered since it'll be far above the 250g limit, but registration isn't too big of a deal. Remote ID is another story, though.
I'm curious about the firmware personally. How will the geofencing and all those other airspace restrictions etc. work and how will you access it? Unless there's a software package specifically for this aircraft in the V2 goggles that's hidden and we just haven't seen it yet.
I fly FPV with the V2's but with the existing air unit and controller with conventional FPV aircraft (running Betaflight, etc), so I won't be needing this one. But I'll still definitely be following it to see what it brings to the table... |
