Well the weather appeared to be carming so decided to take out the mini and try it,  had just got ready to go and I got a message on Instagram from a follower who had asked me about a location id flown.  He wanted to let me know that he was there and had just lost his drone in the wind,  apparently got swept away and he couldn't get it back.   I put the mini 2 away and decided to wait another day.

I was just heading out yesterday for a proper flight with he mini2 when I got a message from an instagram follower,  he had gone to a place he'd seen me fly and just wanted to let me know he lost is drone to the wind sweeping it away.   Put the drone away and just waled instead.    No let up in the wind or rain still and now they are forecasting snow for the weekend which seems unlikely.

Nice of the guy to give you the heads up. His bad luck losing the drone. Maybe recoverable?

Scuba diving in the thames is pretty miserable this time of year and I doubt the rice trick would work.

Always sad to hear when a flyer loses his drone.  Maybe he forgot to check UAV Forecast before heading out.  

I have no doubt you'll get Mini 2 up on the first possible safe opportunity.  There has to be some good weather in the forecast soon, or at least I'd hope soon.

Looks like we have a week of bad weather,  and some news papers are saying snow returning by the weekend but I doubt that will happen.

Wow, your weather has been really wild.  Good that you have indoor things you can get done in the meantime.

I have a driveway that was all clean and ready to seal but needs to be dry first.

In the mean time I just finished a couple of boxes.  One is for my watch repair tools and spare batteries,  the other will be for all the loose bits (spare cables, props etc) that comes with the drones that I want to keep together.

Yeah quite pleased with them,  and I went all in and did a velvet bottom on the inside.

I noticed the bottom but wasn't sure what material it was.  Originally thought it was felt but the texture didn't seem right.  I can for sure see it is velvet now.

It was left over from re upholstering the dining room chairs.  

Squally showers and more strong winds forecasted this week...though the Aurora seen from the North Norfolk coast late last week.

Same here too,   one of my instagram followers lost his drone to the wind on Sunday on Canvey Island.

I wouldn’t have flown in those winds on Sunday, asking for trouble!
