when ever i press record in 4k 30fps the video freezes, i have a photoshoot coming up in a few weeks and if i cant fix this i wont get paid. i run a sandisk ultra 32gb micro sd card and its formated through the dji fly app for 16gbs. pls help me.

If looking for suggestions/help, some additional info like what device you are using and which exact SD card you are using would be helpful. How/Why is the SD card (32gb) formatted to (16gb)?

Why is it only formatted to 16GB? Surely it would formal to its full sizxe (32GB)?

If its formatted to 16GB thats suspcious and sounds like it could be a corrupted/fake card?

Have you tested it in a PC to make sure that it is what it says?

Thats odd.. And perhaps the format isn't right

Do you have the option to format it on a PC or Mac and check the performance whislt you are at it.

There are a lot of 'fake' cards around.

At a guess, I’d say your memory card is to slow. Didn’t you read the card info on DJI’s site? When you say "video freezes" do you mean you get a recorded video in the SD card with a frozen frame? Or do you get no files in the card at all? If you mean the live feed in the fly app freezes, that is a different story. Some phones have problems with the app, but the drone still records properly regardless of the app not showing the video feed.

You have a samsung device?
Probably Note or S21 with exynos chipset, am I close?

So if that is the case, DJI will come here and say that you should use a device listed on compatible device.

I have the s21 Ultra and can't use the drone properly as well. and DJI instead of inform that will fix it, they tell you to buy a new device.

When he/she says "only formats to 16gb", could they be talking about the cache maximum in the drone settings? Just a thought!

I think a Sandisk Ultra won't cut it and is too slow for 4K, try an extreme pro or other recommended cards in the dji manual

I purchased both minis 1 and 2 with SD card directly from DJI. Issue is with compatibility, if you look on the forum there are many of us users of Samsung exynos with the same problem. It works on 4k 24fps but not on 25 and 30. It records perfectly on the as card, but the image on DJI fly is frozen during the recording and flight.

I hope this isn't the issue! I just bought a Samsung S21, and I'm getting the same issue that in 4k and even 2k, it just freezes live feed. So annoying. Any advice DJI?

I can confirm that my 256gb SanDisk Extreme V30 A2 formats to 256gb through the app. There is no such 16gb limit as far as I know. I would suspect a faulty or counterfeit card.

I have the same issue, i tried recording using my iPhone and there is no problem. I’am using the extreme scandisk. Pls help. Its my first ever fly.

I had the same problem with recording on my Mini 2. Kept saying sd card was too slow. But i just got a Sandisk Extreme Plus A1 32GB V30 with speed up to 100 MB from Best Buy and its worked without any issues. Make sure your disk is a A1 and also get the sd card from Best Buy not online and not even from Walmart. Im glad to have piece of mind. Finally. Good luck.
