I have a Phantom 3 Pro, and i use a Ipad Mini 2 to fly with the DJI Pilot App.

I am experiencing some lag problems in the app, especially during the day with summer temperatures. the Ipad gets too hot and the fpv image deteriorates, get black monitor and very lag.

For this Ipad, is the Hardware Decode should be On?

And configuring the image transmission quality to a lower bitrate, should this help the Ipad to lower it's processor activity and not get so hot, resulting in less/or no lag?

1. Enable Hardware decode.

2. Disable Video Cache.

3. In the Video Channel Selection Click Advanced and set the video quality to the lowest setting.

4. Turn off Background App Refresh in IOS General Settings.

5. Put iPad in Airplane  Mode.

Is the back of the iPad feel hot to the touch?  What the outside air temp that you are operating in?

Haven't got the chance to try it again.
But yes, in both situations that the lagging problems ocurred, the Ipad got really hot to the touch.
the outside temperature was above 32ºC.

I bought two weeks ago the Phantom 3 Pro with 1.1.9 Firmware
Everything was ok but after 4-5 flights i got the attached image with that blocks-artifacts.
I tried all i read, like hardware decode or flight mode on my brand new ipad mini 2
This happens also when ipad is cold.
So i decided to upgrade firmware but i saw no difference.

Any idea?

Here are my data:
Aircraft firmware 1.3.20
Dji Go App 2.1.0
Ipad mini 2 wifi+cellular (ios 8.4)

Rc,gimbal and camera are also upgraded.

I just received my P3P and I am using mini iPad 3. I am having the same issues and followed every procedure I've come across. Have you found a solution to this fpv image problem?

No solution yet, i don't know if it is overheating issue because i have the same corrupted image even with cold equipment.
ps. you have that issue also with "youtube live"
Please inform me if you have any idea...

SOLVED!! I followed Toms tips in this link to the "T" and haven't had an issue yet, crisp image after flying for 45 minutes in the heat. Hope it works for you as well.
