Hi
I was wondering, How long does it take to fully charge a mini 2 battery using the 2-way charging hub, the DJI charging cable, and the 18 w charger that is included in the fly-more combo?

Thank You!

The manual says 4 hours for all 3 batteries with the 18W charger. Since the hub does not charge concurrently, divide the number provided by 3 to get the time for one battery...

Just read the manual and it does say 4 hrs, but when I search online it says 6 hrs for the 3 batteries.
I charged it today, 50%-100%, and the charging time was 1 hr.
So to charge from 0%-100% would be 2 hrs
and 3 batteries would be 6 hrs.
So is the manual wrong?
After all I was using quick charging.

Battery charging is not linear like that,  often the first 50-80% can take as long as the last 20%. With the right charger <90 mins per battery.  I used a 5v 2.1amp charger and it took 13 hours to charge three batteries that were all part charged.

Quick charge works in mysterious ways Jokes aside it goes fast until a certain charge level and then slows down to a crawl (exactly as DAFlys said). If anyone wants the full explanation of  it's inner workings here is some good -and a bit long long- read:

https://www.androidauthority.com/fast-charging-explained-889780/

I don't know what charging range DJI's official numbers from the manual (as well as their post) cover. I recon most people would be charging from 30-20% to a full battery. I will try to keep a clock next time I charge; yet it would be of little use I am afraid, as I never let my batteries fully discharge.

According to the manual mini 2 batteries can be charged at upto 29W, so if you use a USB-C charger rated at 29W or over the batteries will charge faster. I charge the battery in the drone with a 45W USB-C car charger and it takes less than an hour from <20% to full.

The hub can charge up to 36W (12v/3A), so with a 36W+ charger it takes around 60 minutes from 0 to 100%, and with the official Dji 18W charger it takes around 84 minutes per batt.

So total charge for three depleted batts is around 4 hours and 15 minutes for the standard 18W charger and 3 hours and 3 minutes for a 36W capable charger.

Of course if the battery is not fully depleted the recharge times will be a little faster. It's recommended to land at around 30% battery both for safety (energy left to withstand any problem) and for battery life.

I think your 5V 2.1A charger is faulty. It should not take 13 hrs if its actually supplying 10.5W/h. 10.5W/h. 13 hrs would be 136.5Whs. The battieries are only 17.32Wh each, so total power required is 3 x 17.32 = 51.96Wh. Why are you not using the DJI 18W charger ?

I plugged it into a phone charger without initially thinking about it.   that charger works fine for iPad or iPhone though.

Charing batteries are rarely linear, and they are usually much slower when above and below a certain charge level. So yeah, the 4hours charged from zero percent should be accurate.

I got a 12V 3A (36W) charger and it takes about an hour per battery, 0 - 100%. Even though it charges faster at first it slows down a lot for the last 3rd and is not faster for the last bit.

Expect DJI to post a notice about not recommending 3rd party chargers but their charging hub states a max INPUT of 12V 3A but don't provide a charger that powerful. So I got a nice Xiaomi charger. It is 65W but only at higher voltages, just 36W at 12V.

Its Christmas day.  I've got my Mini2 fly more kit opened, and charging.  I didnt realize that the USB charging cube I was use most not be "good enough" as it wasnt quick charging.  Using the DJI one, and tried one from a newer samsung phone, they both did the quick charge.

Interesting conversation about the max volatage/amp/watt for the intelligent charger. Seems like DJI should have a recommendation for a charging cube that could take advantage of that.

What have others used?

The one supplied most of the time, other than that, whatever I have to hand.
Note the cable used has an influence too,  I have seen 1/4A with one cable jump to 1A+. with another cable, sam charger same device being charged
