I have the M300 H20T.

My mapping does not work on it.

When I go into:

Mission Flight>
Then Create a route>
Then Mapping>
The can draw a box on the map area.

I dont get the Play icon on screen.

When I look in the part that shows what camera is in use it is blank and says "DJI Pilot has stopped"

try clearing data (Settings -> Apps -> Pilot -> Clear Data), and if still having issue factory resetting RC (settings -> scroll down to Factory Data Reset)..
