I just received a brand new Phantom yesterday and upon opening, I saw that the battery was cracked. The rest of the Phantom looked perfectly fine but somehow the part of the battery that goes inside the Phantom had been damaged. I can't seem to find the "contact seller" button on this order so in the meantime, wwyd?

Edit: I'm just going to return the whole thing. This is the 2nd P3P I've been sent with a battery that had visible damage.

The crack itself doesnt look that bad but the fact that its on the battery and that close to the contacts, I would refrain from flying until you get a new battery

I took it for a 2 min hover flight in my friend's yard just to see if everything was working right. Seemed fine but I'd rather not keep a busted battery. I have others but I did pay for this so I'd like a new one.

You're probably going to want at least two batteries (if not more). The batteries need to cool down before recharging, so it's not possible to quickly recharge after flying when you only have one battery.

Unacceptable.  Return it for a replacement/refund.

I would return the battery as well. No telling how the 'intelligence' has been knocked about, and it should simply be replaced.
Surely DJI would simply discard of that battery. So should you.

Hate to see it fail at 400'.

I returned the entire kit this morning. Debating on buying yet another. I have two batteries, 2 chargers, a big case and an iPad air 2 I bought just for this thing. Hate to see them go to waste.
