I just flew mine and wasn't prompted to update which was odd.

When I flew Mini 2 yesterday afternoon I did not get a prompt to update RC.  However, it did prompt me this morning before a flight.  

When I went to fly the MA2 it prompted me right away to update RC.  So one RC prompted initially and other one didn't.  Not sure what that was all about but seems weird.

I flew this morning and didnt get prompted to update but just tried again on Wifi and it was there.   Obviously 5g is not enough.

Launched DJI Fly 1.4.0 to check and the update was promptly presented to download and install.
I'll try to fly tomorrow if the weather is appropriate to see how will I accommodate to new changes.

just popped up in my feed suren,  although not someone I follow.

I was prompted right away on the GO Fly page yesterday for both MA2 and Mini2. Haven't flown with the new updates yet, tomorrow looks promising.

Was that in wifi or cellular.   Mine only appeared on wifi.

I think mine always appear on wifi, can't remember one ever showing up on cellular. I'm usually in Airplane mode when out flying, so I probably wouldn't see it if it came in that way.

The go4 app doesn’t seem to care but my experience with the fly app is more limited.  I hope they have disabled cellular updates.

I didn't even know you could update on cellular, probably best to always update on wifi or DJI Assistant to minimize possible errors, so ya would make sense to disable them.

I agree. But in the go4 app it would regularly catch me out with an update I didn’t know was coming.

The fact that the update didn't show up on your cellular, but showed up right away when you switched to wifi would suggest that they have disabled them or as you mentioned in post #9, 5G is just not enough.

I use 5G and get really good download speeds.  My wifi provider is not the best but living on a boat you get what's available.

I usually get 400mb+ on 5g. Here in the uk there’s not many people with 5g capable phones yet.

1.4.0 seems to bring a more stable connection. I've got less messages regarding signal weakness.
I will try to monitor, since before that update warning messages were somewhat usual.

Mine went from 0.238 on a laggy flight to 0.231 after the update so it’s probably the video feed that was laggy not the actual movement.

I'm super lucky because my provider just upgraded the nearby tower with mid-band 5G and I average 850  Mbps download speed.  Much better speed than my wifi provider at only 200-250 Mbps.  Looking at increasing wireless plan to totally unlimited and dropping wifi provider.

Video feed was a little bit more stable.
Video-loss was at 1.900m (1,9km) compared to 1.300m (1,3km) before update.
So, improvements were made.

Fingers crossed,  but here I doubt it. When 4g launched and few had access to it, the speed was amazing now it’s oversaturated again.

Yeah, and that over saturation is what I'm afraid will happen with the 5G in the near future.  Anyway, can't worry about that as it is definitely not something that I can control.  LOL.

How do you know which firmware is in the controller?  Not in the app just for drone?

Not seeing any update for it?

5g has more spectrum but I agree,  its only a matter of time.   In the UK they just changed the rules to allow the towers to be higher for better reach into rural areas.

Its on the about tab on the settings (three dots top right corner) - labeled RC Firmware.
