Hey folks,

I’m new to drones and given the cost of our FPV batteries, I’ve been researching ways to increase the life of our LiPos and give them extra special care.

According to the internet, LiPos are best kept happy for short and medium term storage with cell voltages of 3.8-3.85v depending on which expert you follow or trust. That being said, I started looking at my voltages during my last 6-7 flights and noticed that 3.8-3.85v pretty regularly falls at about 70-80% (and more often 75-80%) on all three of my FPV LiPos.
With that being said, note that 70-80% seems to fall somewhere around when the 4th LED starts flashing during charging. Look for that and stop charging when you have a battery you don’t plan on using or awhile and you will have happy batteries! Hope this helps.

In case people forget to do this, the battery will self discharge if not used for a few days. Checking the power level by pressing the button restarts the self discharge timer so if you want the battery to self discharge, don't press the button for a few days.
From other forum posts, I've read the battery drops to 95% after one day and 80% after three days. I haven't verified this info myself.
