Just a reminder that DJI do not recommend you to modify your DJI Mavic Air 2 or any of its components. There is a  possibility that these modification will work however, since it's not tested by DJI we cannot guaranteed the reliability of the said battery when in use. In addition, modifying your DJI drone might cause damage and can void the warranty of the said DJI Drone as well. Thank you for your understanding and fly safe always.

Stephen, DJI anyway markets the distance only as per FCC. Even in Europe. Even in European local languages. Of course, with a small number in the corner, and if one is curious enough, he finds out that it's the FCC distance. Which of course most don't know. So the average user (because we speak about a consumer drone, aren't we?) understands only 12km. So...starting from this marketing trick, I would say that changing to FCC is as per the manufacturer's specs. Pumped up specs.

FCC aside release half baked drones and people will find a way to circumnavigate locks. Especially in the case of Mavic Air 2 and ADS-B balls up!
BTW with some USB adadpters, a ethernet cable and some basic terminal knoweldge you can do this without paying for it. Search for it on youtube.
