Hi, I installed the new IMU A2, calibrate it. Connect the individual motors to the controller.

I think my problem may be different in that case. I'm getting micro vibrations still. If i use my GH4 its perfect. The A7Rii is balanced in all 3 axises. Is there anything you do with the camera settings? Do you turn off the 5 axis stabilisation?

Hi Guys,

Been a DJI user since 2014 with the P2V+, then I1 Version 1, P3 Advanced, then I1 Pro and S1000 Premium.

I have just yesterday tweaked and got my new S1000+, A2, LB2, Z15-A7 fitted with a A7Rii working like a dream.

The A7Rii doesn't properly fit into the Z15-A7Rii properly and you have to make some adjustments the the Z15 frame to get all the balancing correct.

You also have to change the HDMI-AV cable. The BMPCC cable is that tiny bit longer than the standard cable from the Z15-A7, so that work well now.

The IR transmitter for shutter and recording control needs to be sheilded from sunlight, as the A7Rii is forced to sit a little further back due to a slightly larger handgrip on the A7Rii vs the original A7R.

All in all though, not too hard to achieve with a little bit of tinkering around.

neil,

that is a fantastic job with the A7Rii and z15 A7 gimbal.
My friend has the same equipment, and is coming over today to get it installed by me
However, for making the camera fit, i guess you would have lowered the base or bottom plate

could you conform.

Regards

We currently have an A7s & A7R that work well on the Z15-A7 gimbal. We are going to buy a A7R MkII - any updates on the support for the gimbal?

I wish I could figure out how to get the A7R shutter to function on the A2 controller. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
I'm trying to process the conversion to A7S-II as well. Modifying the gimball was not that hard. I only do have a problem with the IR port I guess. Shutter is not working when I put the camera in the gimball and it is facing horizontally (screen is not working as well). I guess this is related to camera as the behavior is same when the Z15 is witched off. Where is the IR sensor?

Thank you
Viktor

Hello, I have the same configuration as you (S900 A7Sii) but there is still this problem of vibration on the video.
Today, did you find a solution to stop the vibrations?

The problems with the vibrations might come from the missing hold for the camera. The camera is most steady when attached to the gimbal on 2 spots (bottom mount screw and lens ring in front). When one support is missing or loose, then vibration ocure.

A7Sii installed on Zenmuse Z15 gimbal. Original HDMI cable used. There is slack cable behind the gimbal base plate. To access carefully remove the base plate. Slack cable ia held in place by double-sided tape. Carefully remove the tape and extend cable. Use a little hot glue to reinfoced the connection on the circuit board. Carefully replace the backplate ensuring none of the fine HDMI cables are trapped. I then used rubber amalgam tape (it bonds to itself) as a cable shroud. Use a small drop of hot glue to seal the outside of the cable where it enters the base plate. The original HDMI cable will now be long enough to reach the camera port. Very gently bend the cable back on itself. Do this before the HDMI connector. The connector with then fit the A7Sii HDMI port. The little IR sensor is easily repositioned; it's only held in place by double-sided tape. This will allow the camera to be placed fully foward in the gimbal. A lens counter balance is required. I used the smallest car tyre self-adhesive lead balacing weight and placed one on the inside of the lense shield. It fits perfectly and cannot be seen. Lastly, fully rebalance the gimbal, leaving the yaw balancing to last.
The camera and gimbal are installed on the large 2m diameter Foxtech K130 Octocopter platform. It can be used as a single operator mode or with 2 crew. A fixed-view FPV camera gives a pilot's eye-view. Remote switching between the FPV and A7Sii cameras is achieved via the DJI iOSD.
