Hi all, I went flying the weekend at a local tourist spot. I done all my usual pre flight checks but when I done my compass calibration I had a messsge on the dji app saying strong magnetic fields present, calibrate again making sure I had the drone at least 1 metre off the ground which it was. I done another calibration which wad fine. I took off cautiously I was about 30 metres out and about 20 metres high when my drone started the fish bowl effect. I flew it back to me where it steady itself then flew as normal then after. Has anyone any ideas what happened.

There were probably strong magnetic fields present...

I would echo this statement..

Best to do a compass cali once at a good spot. I would never trust a calibration in an area I got that message from the phantom..

Have you ever had the message yourself. I better not fly there again, real shame beautiful spot.

If you get the message...  Move to a different location.  Try calibrating again.

Hi Clive. I have not had the message out i the field ( I live in North Wales so ample of open area free of magnetic fields ). I did get it once when I powered the P3 up in my office though.

I've tried a couple - and they seem to differ in usability.

I think the best way is just to check the compass mod value of your P3 using the Pilot app. If the readings are too far out, move the P3 to a different spot.

gps status pro, is a highly popular app. ive been using it for years.
