I have checked my RTH settings are set on minimum (65ft/19m) yet the Mavic Air 2 will not fly lower than 118 ft (36m).
If I try to go lower, the craft halts and fights my input of lower.
It will stay in the same spot until it reaches 118ft, then continue RTH.

Any ideas how to resolve?

maybe you are in some sort of restricted zone?

I very much doubt there's any restriction that won't allow flight below a certain elevation.

Post recorded flight data from one of these incidents and it might have some clues to solve the mystery.

in the latest autel firmware update, i noticed the following; i have no idea what it really means:

"Lower the minimum Return to Home altitude to 25m (82ft) to meet European regulation in orange warning zones."

That's fine ... except no-one is talking about Autel drones or firmware here.
6 years flying DJI drones and reading DJI forums and I've not run into such a thing.

The OP posted a week ago but hasn't shown enough concern to bother posting data that would explain his incident.
Why post at all if there's no interest in solving the issue?

^sounds like their might be a new law in europe but i couldn't find more details about it.  i am almost sure it wouldn't be an "autel" law but it would be nice to read the context of the law to see how it affect all drone flyers in europe.  perhaps it is something that autel is doing proactively (or maybe even unnecessarily) but on the face, it sounds like a restricted zone might indeed have a minimum floor for rth functions.  i wouldn't put it past the eu or certain european countries to come up with the nonsense, doesn't surprise me if it's true.  i see the op is labeled as located in the usa but  unless our fellow europeans jump in here, i agree the op should follow with his details.  still, it's always nice to learn the new things that are going on in the industry.

The log on your previous flight would do. No need to get another flight log as the problem has already occured.

Weather?  The log from the flight with the incident is what's needed.

Go to: https://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/
... where you'll find instructions.
That will give a report you can post a link for the report here (even if the report looks empty).
Or just post the .txt file.

No I understand. However, I launched before a GPS fixed so the log has only two entries - corrupted.
I mean I am trying to reproduce the incident and have a better log.
But we have bad weather here for the past few days.

Maybe taking off before GPS lock might be the issue.

I suggested posting even if the report looks empty.
It' looks like that because DJI changed their encryption, but I can work around that ... if you post a link to the report that looks like a dud.

Don't waste your effort.

No, it wouldn't make any difference and wouldn't cause odd RTH messages..
If you launch early, your drone still gets GPS a little later and records a homepoint where it is when it gets GPS.

Are you sure when you tried to lower the drone, there wasn't anything below it?

There might be an explanation to this. The obstacle avoidance effective sensing distance is around 20m so maybe thats why it didn't lower itself

Hi pmshop,

Had a look at your video and log data.

Not only did your craft not go lower, but at the same time the speed dropped twice to zero, see my chart.
At the same time many warnings  "Weak image transmission signal. Adjust antennas. | Weak signal. Adjust antennas."

But cannot explain the effect of the warnings to speed/height.
cheers

Hi pmshop,

Had a look at your video and log data.

It might be a software issue, you might want to contact DJI Customer Support

How about giving up on making 4 random guesses.
It doesn't help anyone.

You're annoying me already with so many meaningless posts.
Try reading and learning instead.
