how to stabilize the osmo action horizontally?mounting on the handlebars of a bicycle works fine

walking while holding the osmo action in my hand: vertical variations are well managed
the horizontal variations are annoying, I get seasick

using unfolded monopod helps

  who has a better idea?

thanks

I don't think that many did really understand what your question was about, but you ask what is the best method to stabilize the footage while walking?

Gimbal is the best solution, but ninja-walking is the only solution to get stable footage with/without gimbal.

I do not do Portrait mode is that what you're asking
a gimble will not get the bobble walk out , as I  still get that if walking with one, and I  would have to  go 1/4 speed ahead to minimize it

maybe a video would help, DJI here rest assure  your topic will get help from others, and offer  minimal help

If you mean something like this:

Walking with bike, OA with iSteady pro at the handlebars.

Davinci Resolve is really good for stabilization of footage, I use often when handhelding my OA.

A tip: start with the best one (first choice) and if the footage looks strange, move to the next one on list.

checked my rushs:

The internal stabilization of the osmmo action is good when the camera is fixed on the handlebars of the bike on a bike path

Insufficient on rough terrain and walking

Under these conditions,  a electric stabilizer with gimbal  is required

i use Da vinci Resolve  17  every day , it makes a good job

a gimbal will still give you that up/down  bobble walk

To keep the horizon straight, indeed a gimbal is really the only way.  The trouble is that once you have used a device with built-in horizon levelling, anything else seems crude.  It's a pity that the Action does not even have an on-screen indication of level horizon.  I rarely use my Action because of this.  I do have a DJI phone gimbal device which can accept the Action with an adapter, but then the whole thing seems rather large compared with my Pocket 2.

I completely agree
I have an osmo pocket 2 too

The osmo action can be used fixed to the handlebars of the bike, adding the software stabilization of Resolve if necessary

it seems that the recent GoPro keep a straight horizon, but they are twice as expensive

on the other hand, a bicycle is not expected to be perfectly stable.

the fixation on the handlebars, then a manual horizon with the stabilization of Resolev is a good compromise
