Hi fellas, I have used the 2.4 large clover leafs for some time on my fpv with great success but always hated their vulnerablilty due to the exposed size, as time went by they got weak and broke.

I saw some boscam multi function 2.4 / 5.8 rx/tx antennas, they were neat and small so thought i would give them a go. they were useless, as soon as they went on my 2.4 ghz ts321 they blocked out my gps lock, i tried various locations for the tx and antenna but as soon as the antenna comes within 2 ft of the phantom it blocks the gps signal.

After a day of tinkering i gave up, desoldered the dome end and fabricated my own 2.4's from a you tube video. i now have normal usage again.

i would recommend that no body use these if they fly a 5.8 phantom with 2.4 fpv.

My home made ones gave the same range as my purchased clover leafs so that was a success.

I see there are 2.4 ghz low pass filters available, will that help reduce swamping of the gps and are they any good? i would like smaller antennas on my fpv one day.

can you upload a photo, maybe there are good advices for you.


2.4G low pass filter does no good for gps signal, but high pass filter will.

Handy to know Thanks for the heads up! Im just waiting on my Receiver to arrive so I can complete my FPV. I shall see what the stock antennas are like before changing them. I'll be using a Boscam TS321 and RC802 receiver. Bought a cheap gimbal which a friend is altering to suit my Sony Action cam! Can't wait!

Stock antennas are shit so dont bother, if you plan on going up then straight back down then you should be ok but if you want the true fpv experiece you will need cloverleafs.  the set up you bought is identical to mine and its a good one. just get dedicated 2.4 clover leafs and not the boscam dual jobbies.

Low pass filter let the signal below cut off frequency pass and depress signal above cut off frequency. But high pass filter just the verse.

High pass filter with cut off  frequency  between 2.2G and 2.4G will depress interference for GPS which radiates from 2.4G transceiver. Because GPS's frequency is 1.57542G , so a high pass filter let 2.4G signal pass and block interference for GPS.

Is it recommended then to use low pass filters for FC40 users with 2.4Ghz FPV kit? I don't want the bits i 've purchased to cause issues to my Phantom. Thanks
