Thats a lot of stuff missing,   I posted this video this morning but I hadn't seen the list which is much easier to look at.

Indeed,   I also wonder why waypoints are not coming at all.

I don’t think Fly app is up to waypoints, also don’t understand why dji don’t give over SDK to the likes of Litchi who do waypoints much better than them and be done with it. End result will be “No Waypoints”

The SDK should be out at some point, this will enable third parties to fill in the gaps.

Yes,   they should be using the SdK themselves so it would be a straightforward release in time with their own products.

It will be a BIG update in January. Hopefully my bird won't choke on it.

Im also seeing on reddit that there are quite a few complaints about hot pixels from the camera.

You know thats what was supposed to happen on the mp2,   but many of the mp1 features never arrived.

Holey doley, that is a lot of upgrades missing. Are you sure that they all will be fulfilled early 2022? I can not really believe that DJI are selling a so incomplete drone now.

They have given a date 22nd January. Just hope everything arrives together although they have said waypoints will not be coming to M3.

Well I wouldn’t put it past dji to renege on their promise to do this.

No they would not dare.

Wow, that's a huge amount of missing stuff at release.  The list really paints a negative picture.  

I do hope DJI comes through but only time will tell.  

Sad they have no projected release date for the SDK.

Yeah, this release was to make the most of the holiday buying season, having 1 or 2 items missing is fine but this amounts to almost half the software on this drone missing. Djis reputation in the past is NOT to do as promised in these situations. If we go back to release video dji were extremely coy about including any intelligent modes in that video which tells me they were trying to blindside people ordering buying this drone. Not very nice treatment of customers.

Watching this video makes me worried. I am actually thinking if I should cancel my order and wait a little more to see what happens but then it means I have no drone as I sold my air2s when I placed the M3 order.

Disclaimer: The fact that I already have my M3 and the money is spent may affect my comments, but here they are anyway.

First: I think that DJI will make good on the claims, maybe not in January but fairly soon after. I believe this because to do otherwise would be corporate suicide. I cannot envision the board of directors going along with this tactic for very long without firing someone at the top. If they really cannot make this work, then a buyback would be the only reasonable solution to save the company.

Second: It is obvious to me that most of the issues are in the transition from the GO app to the Fly app. It makes perfect sense to, at some time, abandon a bulky, bloated and high-maintenance app and switch to a totally new one. Being a part-time developer I can understand that completely. At some point, your old app becomes too unwieldy to add anything more to it. You have to move on. That is painfull but necessary.

I really have no doubt, and hopefully we might see new stuff added in, but this is definitely a case of not being fully ready for the Christmas holiday shopping , so going ahead anyways, dji did very similar with dji spark release , it got a huge update 5 weeks after release this release also began another marketing campaign which was in the end good for them and those waiting for the update all of a sudden feel they’re getting free stuff and the relationship is back on. Suckers with money to burn ;+)

Without a question it was a "rush to market" by DJI.  They could lose a lot of consumers if they don't follow through with the firmware updates.  Will be even worse if they don't release the SDK so Litchi and others can perform their customizations.
