A short sunshine break with a last minute holiday and I've got lucky with the location.

I think not many, the skills of these pilots is high... they also over fly a 5 star hotel with lots of german guests who like to sunbathe topless, so am guessing added sightseeing!

Ive contemplated doing myself, but you can never guarantee how good the internet connection will be when you get to the villa.

I think that is part of the "attraction" for some,  they all look quite euphoric when they land...could just be the relief of surviving a flight from 3000ft above sea level too!

I've had two holidays to Finland cancelled because of CV19...given up trying for a couple of years for now...March around the time of the Spring Equinox is best...was going high up to Ivalo (?) if that is the correct spelling....a bucket list for many to see.

It's flakey as here now, but the hotel and island is rammed with Russian, German, Dutch, French, Italians and Brits...think everyone having a 'last minute' escape prior to Winter and more lockdown?

I don't think this island has a railway, left my drone at home as strict rules here in the national park. One person put their up in a viewpoint in Tiede and within a minute, a uniformed dude was telling them to land it in an assertive manner.

It is indeed a shame how much this COVID mess has ruined or made things harder. Hopefully you will eventually get your chance. And, yes, you spelled Ivalo exactly the right way :-)

I tried to book a flight, but very very popular. Would have needed to book the flight when I booked this holiday! Tempted to have a lesson when I m back in the UK.

They don't have a railway right now. Some plans that I read about, but nothing atm.
