First thing I need to master is working with Proxies as my MacBook doesn't handle h265 natively very well.

I'm hearing you need a beast of a computer to work with H265.  However, using proxies would be a good work around.

I have a MacBook Pro 15" with Touch Bar,  but even that struggles.  you really need the last gen chips with support built in,  even with proxies I find it slow to create them,   what I need to do Is plan better.

A vast amount of data will do that to most computers.

Indeed.  I want to get the m2p out before the autumn colours are finally gone and get some short slog clips to have another go at it.

Nice to see another one for Davinci Resolve, if I am lucky our community college will have a cinematography and video editing course, so will possibly tip my toes more in the video editing terrain, Might come in handy :-)

Yes, I have been once on the same video course and enjoyed it very much. I just hope it will be held this time - the last time there weren't enough participants and it got cancelled :-(

Yes, I will hope so too. What gave a bit of solice was that they also held a photography course that I was accepted into and enjoyed very much. They also talked about a couple of cinematography things there.

Hard to say yet. The community college takes sign-ins for the courses beginning from January 4th, and for the photography course, the deadline for sign-ins is on January 6th and the course should start on January 9th. For the cinematography course, the dates are January 27th (for the sign-in deadline) and February 6th (for the course to start).

However, all of this could fly into the trashbin even if there were enough participants signed-in, as they recently announced our province tightens their corona restrictions beginning on Christmas day, and those will last at least for two weeks. These restrictions include bans on gathering hobby groups inside and outside, even with the corona pass. So it could be that either those are held as online courses, or cancelled altogether :-(

some of the UK is dong the same from the 27th,  (we call it Boxing Day ).  So far England hasn't announced but we hit 120'000 new cases yesterday so it must be just a matter of time.

That's a terrible number :-( In Finland, we have had 260,292 in total throughout all of the pandemic. 11,334 today.

The sooner this is over, the better.

Thats an amazing difference.   The hospitalisations here have doubled in the last 10 days due to the new spike.

I just got an email saying the photography course has been cancelled or at the very least postponed to a later time in the spring  :-( I hope they at least manage to go through with the cinematography course.

Darn that corona...
