I continue to be floored by the M3 Hyperlapse stability. You can't get anymore stable then this. It doesn't budge in 30 minutes of shooting.

Hello there BrianKushner. Good day and thank you for posting this cool Hyperlapse video you have filmed and created using your DJI Mavic 3. Great work and keep flying. .

Nice capture Brian.

I assume you also ran it through Warp Stabiliser or similar. There's a noticeable warp artefact at around 0:15 that calls attention to it. It's when the far left crane moves and the stabiliser tries to stop it, using subspace warp.

If you're using Premier Pro, you can turn off the subspace warp and just use "position, scale, rotation" That should stop the rubber sheet effect. Hope that makes sense.

Nope. That is the drone generated file right from the drone. No post was done on this other then adding music. I don't use premier pro, I use Filmora Wondershare to edit and they don't even have Warp as far as I know.

How Bizarre! I just watched again a few times, at various speeds and clear as day, as the counter changes from 0:15 to 0:16s and the left gantry moves, the dock ground and the bow of the ship get warped around. You can see what I'm talking about, right?

I wonder if Wondershare is defaulting to adding a bit of stability. Maybe try having a look in the Video tab and check that it isn't switched on...

I don't believe the image processing in camera is doing this. I'd love to see the raw file straight off the card.

Perhaps the drone software adds something. Message me your email and I’ll send you the file.  Or I can put on YouTube. Only movement I see around 16 seconds is the gentry crane actually moves...Stabilization is off in Filmora...

OK, that's wierd. It would appear that the drone is applying some variant of warp stabilisation. At 0:16s the left gantry crane moves to the right, which in turn causes the ground seen through it to stretch to the left, as if it was a rubber sheet. Basically it's applying a perspective correction where there is not shift in viewpoint, so you get this erroneous warp.

I had no idea DJI were doing this, but it would explain why the rest of the timelapse is so steady. I mean the position holding is very good, and this would be just an optimisation, but one that is occasionally prone to slight errors like this.

It looks even better.. can you upload it to google drive so we can see the quality in full detail?  I'm looking at the box letterings on the right side and it looks super stable.  What was the wind speed that night?

LOL! No it happens over multiple frames and is a stretching warp. Just like you can get from Adobe's Warp Stabiliser if it gets confused by objects moving in frame that it is using as invariant reference points.

It is a genuine surprise that the DJI image processor is using a similar algorithm for additional Hyperlapse stabilisation.

What was the shutter, ISO, aperture, etc.?  How long was it in the air and how much battery left at the end, did you start at 100%?  Are you on the pro controller?

I was in auto settings...I shot for 30 minutes and had battery left.  Here is my entire flight log.

DJI must have some awesome batteries.  HV cells at 4.35V exist.  Only time will tell how long they last.
