In 6 years the first time I lost or crash a drone. I am not sure what happened. I was flying probably about 200-250FT altitude with the battery in 21% or close to that because it never trigger the RTH. I was following a car and studently the screen start spinning for half second and went in black and white with the image freeze and no telemetry. I press RTH but nothing.

I went to the last recorded coordinate but nothing. Try find my drone but the drone has no power. I was flying with my RC Pro controller. I am trying to find the Flights log but I cant since is the new RC Controller and i always depend on Airdata but the log is not there either. I cant think clear. I cant believed.

The drone is in a very dense area with tree and no access but i am going tomorrow to try to recover it if I can since is dark now.

Do anyone know where is the flylog in the new RC Pro Controller?

Image looks like it hit and tangled with something. Could there have been hi-voltage lines near that intersection? Or possibly a bird strike?  Looks like an edit right before it does the final spin?

It wasn’t power lines and at one stage it did go into going home mode shown in your flight log. I only had a quick look and this was 5/6 seconds before crash.

Hi, sorry to hear this. This may well have been caused by the RC Pro momentarily disconnecting from the drone. This is a known issue with the current firmware and DJI must address this.

I purchased my RC Pro separately and I cannot fly the drone safely due to random disconnects. For now, I have reverted to using the RCN1.

No. I disagree. You do not need the controller connected to fly the drone. You can turn off the controller if you want and the drone will go RTH after few seconds of disconnection. The drone can fly perfectly without that connection.

Looks like a bird strike and it fell in the road. If you can find pieces, start a Care Refresh claim.

I didn’t say you couldn’t fly the drone without a connection, I said the RC Pro firmware-related disconnect issue *may* have been a cause of the flight instability you saw.

After all, I have experienced the same thing myself. I hate seeing anyone lose their drone in this way as you have and it is painfully obvious DJI still have work to do to fix some pretty serious firmware bugs.

Once again I will post this link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/produc ... title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have one of these on every drone and always light it up before a flight. It will flash a medium brightness for 3 days. That makes it easier to find especially in the dark. Cheap insurance. Ignore the line that states it goes for only 2 hours. I have tested them...72 hours.

I came very close to crashing my M3 today while testing rescue jacket. A huge bird, coming straight at it from ahead, swerved away just a very few feet in front of it.

I agree something happened. Looks like the front left motor failure. Firmware related? I am not sure. Only DJI will tell me if they do.  I started the warranty process. They say will communicate with me in 2 days.

I'm confused. Just before the mishap, the drone is flying about 30-35 mph with no stick actions or being in active tracking mode. Is there an reason for that? The log only shows Sport mode.

That's because you are looking at the flight data in Airdata ... which does not read M3 flight data properly.

Sorry for this from the footage, it looks like it's hit by something? Hope You'll find it soon!
I had a similar experience with my MP a few years ago due to a faulty battery - found it on the next morning with minor damages   - repair cost me 50 bucks - hope You'll have it back!

It does look like motor problem, bird strikes are rare although its one of the first offerings you’ll get for cause of crash. Looks like either motor failure or prop came off and it started to lose altitude fast. It is likely a bit of distance away from last coordinates as it had a fair way to fall.

Would seem strange that only one drone would be affected by FW update 10 days or so after update.

Hi,

Dropping down with vertical speed 37 m/s. Last recorded position at minus -12.9 height at 30.429404, -84.202811.
Height cannot be correct (guess due to high vert speed) as the ground level is approx the same (+ 3 meter) as where it was started.
RTH command was received, last part kind of circling down.

See chart marking last position.

Hope it can be found.

cheers

That where i concentrated my search. By coincidence the turn arrow from the street is pointing to the location of the possible crash area. I expend 5-6 hours already searching and also i did a mapping with pictures to analyze the area.

I cant find the drone or parts.

Drones have a remarkable ability to hide when they want too. Have a look after the next wind storm. Not that it will help with the current situation but I have seen it written that reflective tape on the available 5 sides is a great assistance to finding them with a torch.
