I could have sworn when I first got the mavic 2 pro that the controller lasted longer. Maybe I am wrong.

But after a typical flight (usually around 15-20 minutes) the controller goes down from a full charge down to 80-75%. Is that typical?

My pro 2 used to go 4 batteries and still have enough power. Maybe your RC battery is worn down

What? That is just 20-25% discharge. Seems in line with everything I know about mine. Normal.

Also maybe it's charging an Android phone that is low on power?

I have the original controllers for M2P and Mini2  and the smart controller.

Yep, I know. I was wondering which one(s) you use for back-up? I have regular one for my Mini 2 and the SC for my 2P. Do you think it is worth me buying the regular one for M2P or not? Very few come up on ebay UK just now. (watching 2 just now).

Theres a few up on ebay that are bidding. Id be tempted to put some cheeky bids in near the last minute. Also January seems a good time to buy as the competition is usually skint.

Keep in mind the Mavic 2 came out in 2018 and the lithium battery inside the controller has a shelf life of 3-5 years. Lithium batteries also drop off charge much more steeply. Since Mavic 2 is officially end of life I would guess they haven't been making new ones in at least a year. You can send the controller back to DJI and have them replace the battery for $69. They don't really replace the battery but send you another controller.

I Should have timed the flight time today. I had a long shoot with the drone today. I went through 3 fully charged mavic batteries and ran them down to around 20% and the fully charged remote ended up with 35% charge left.

I could have sworn when I first got the mavic 2 the controller lasted longer than that. It typically goes down by about 25% per flight. Next time I use it, which will be tomorrow. I'll actually time the flight and record how much the controller battery goes down.

And when I use my phone with the controller my phone is usually at around 80-90% charge.

Ok, controller battery went from 99% to 74% after 18 minutes of use. So that's more then 1% a minute.
