Yes but M3 did not lose subject whereas M2 did.

It lost right at the end,   Id rather have smooth tracking for 99% then it leaping about all over the place.

Each to their own DAFlys. It would be boring if we all thought the same. At the moment though, I will hold onto my M2P as long as my 5 batteries last.

Same here,  at least until the class label mess is settled.

I think the sections you were referring were when Obstacle Avoidance and APAS 5.0 was activated to guide the Mavic 3 out from hitting the branches, and then letting it race ahead to catch up with the subject. And yes, during those sections, the tracking wasn't great.

The M2 was tracking from a lot further back hence never really had to avoid any obstacle (shot with 36mm zoom), thereby giving a smoother shot. But it did lose the subject.

However if the DJI engineers were to be reading this, I would ask them if they could please let us set a distance between the subject and the Mavic 3?

So say for example, if I am in a terrain where I know there are lots of obstacles, we could tell the drone to hang a bit further back for a smoother shot. Or even let us use the Telephoto lens to track.

At the moment there are only these options from your manual. (people or vehicles or boats)
