For several days I have been waiting for the rain and snow to stop falling and blowing. The weather window appeared this morning, timid rays of sunshine. I immediately took the drone and went to Podzamcze. The sun could not define itself. But something happened. Pictures of the DJI Mavic 3.

Ogrodzieniec Castle - the ruins medieval castle  located in the Kraków-Częstochowa Jura, built in the so-called Eagles' Nests, in the village of Podzamcze in the Silesian Province, in Zawiercie County, about 2 km east of Ogrodzieniec. The castle was built in the 14th and 15th centuries by the Włodek Sulimczyk family.


The castle is located on the highest elevation of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland - Góra Zamkowa, rising at 515.5 m above sea level. The ruins lie on the tourist trail of the Eagles' Nests; are open to the public.


History
The first fortifications in the place of the later castle were erected during the reign of Bolesław the Wrymouth. They were probably destroyed during the Tatar invasion in 1241. In the place of the wooden stronghold, a brick castle was built by King Casimir the Great, who then leased it (as a tenure for life) to the Marshal of the Kingdom of Poland Przedbor of Brzezie. Documents show that Przedbór allocated a considerable amount of money to strengthen the fortifications. In 1387, Władysław Jagiełło granted the castle to Włodek of Charbinowice, a Cracow cup-maker, but at the same time he granted Przedbor the amount of 300 Polish groszes in the castle and the town of Dobczyce with affiliations, as compensation for the expenses incurred earlier during the lease of the castle.

Looks quite stark in the snow. It must have been a magnificent place at one time.

Very nice footage.    Quite the history behind the old castle.  Great location for flying.
