Hi Guys, I can't see a thread here where we can all add the features or improvements we would like to see in the Ronin 4D so I thought i'd make one!

(1) Before you post, please do a quick search to see if someone else has posted what you want to post.

Please include Prores 422 and Prores 422 LT

Please add « extended video » recording format.(so we can choose between : log, rec 709 and extended (like blackmagic).

ALLOW 4K 120fps in 16x9 aspect ratio (and not 2:39)

Please add Braw

Wireless Live Audio Video Transmission To Desktop

*plugin > app (less CPU/RAM)
*phone as RavenEye APIcntroller
*SMPTE audio transmits as interface

please add a quick 1x to 2x and back magnification button to control sharpness in detail like with Atomos Ninja V.

please add
- an option to take a single DNG still image while filming (like with Inspire 2 or Mavic 3)

please add
- uncompressed 4K/6K CinemaDNG video to R4D, like Inspire 2 with X7 can do

- please bring back ProresRAW

-> the ProSSD can easily handle the data rate of this format

please add

- option to customize buttons like with Sony A7S3 or Nikon Z9
for example assign Record Start/Stop to “M” Button on Top-Handle

- add option of Record Button on Screen (like with Inspire 2, Mavic 3 etc)

please add an option for

- repeated movements of gimbal (Motion Control):
an option to track a move the operator does with gimbal, and the option to record that move and modifiy it’s speed, segments of it and repeat it N times

maybe via a Ronin 4D app on iPhone/Android

This would be sweet, but until they work out the maths on this one, even adding the functionality to program the gimbal movement like they do with the Ronin-S would be sweet.

Low Quality wireless previewing from an App (so you don't have to carry the remote monitor on smaller just for a client to preview).

You can do that by setting Peak button to magnification. It then toggles through two levels of magnification.

Improvements

Add Prores 422 / LT  
Add Braw if possible.
Customise Buttons generally (Remap - the M button (or similar) to allow instant slow-motion HFR.)
Can't find Delete clip - add this.
Make another way of changing exposure via buttons so you can leave the wheel on focus without having to cycle through mode on the screen. Be able to control Iris and focus at the same time.
Update the tracking feature so that you can quick press it to lock focus and tracking without to touch the screen to select "TRACK" and take hands off.

Suggestions for user manual,

Explain how active track pro and focussing work with more clarity. Seems very confusing.
Explain about the counter-weight for the lenses with lidar fitted. I see lots of Ronin 4D user running without the weight and it stops it dropping around.

It would be good to allow adjustment of the sensitivity of the focus thumb wheel, and reverse its direction.

Please add pre-roll and also full frame 4k & 6k 60fps at 16x9.

I might be asking something dumb but I haven't found a way to connect my ronin 4d to wall power in case I need to film a static interview...
Is a power adapter that works like that for sale anywhere?
I can't find anything on the matter either on the manual or online...

- Some dummy hand grips? Taking the grips off to operate from the monitor is great, but makes the camera itself harder to use.- An S-BUS connection to enable use of different remotes for controlling the gimbal movement?

Yes, the main issue actually with the camera is :

UPGRADE THE AUTO-FOCUS and add more custom settings on it (speed, accuracy, targets, etc.)

And please, UPGRADE ALSO THE ACTIVE TRACK too adding some custom settings (freedom of move of the target, speed of tracking, etc.)

+ all the features already asked.

Please allow autofocus to remain functional when MODE button is pressed during recording.

Right now, when I press mode button to change ND while i'm recording, AF stops functioning and I lose focus of my subject.

My request is to have them add BRAW

Please have a way to exit the mode button menu faster when you just want to change NDs and not has to scroll through each settings. Maybe pressing the right trigger once to exit the mode menu.
Also for the 3D Lidar focus assist to still be on when recording at 6k 60P.

Hey,

Hold down the mode button for a second or two - it will exit out without scrolling past all the options.

Took me a second to find this out!

Wow! holding down the mode button works a lot better but I feel like a single press of the right trigger would still be better in terms of work flow.

Has anyone used the 4d while on a horse?

1.- Programable top handle buttons to control zoom lens
2.- Add an option for RAW recording, even as an independent license.
3.- Add output RAW data to SDI / HDMI out for external recorders.
4.- Options to add A/B focus points for rack focusing
5.-Safe eject drive for all storage options
6.-Release handle extension cable for different rigging options
7.-Add the ability to ingest timecode info from a timecode injector

hdmi output to have 1080p/50fps

THIS is a pain to deal with!  This bug needs to be fixed!

Please have the audio meters show an X over them when you are in slo mo.  Need some type of warning when you aren't really recording audio.  Nothing like shooting a slow motion interview for a couple minutes before you realize it.

Why on earth can't we delete clips?  Especially after shooting a slow motion interview for a few minutes.

Please let us use the dial on the left side for iris.  It sucks how difficult it is to make a mild adjustment like that.

And why can't we do slow motion in 4K?
