OK boys and girls, here is definitive proof that DJI royally screwed up ADS-B notifications in the latest M3 FW update.

A buddy and I went to a municipal airport. Parked our butts close to the end of the runway with a Mavic Air 2s and a Mavic 3.

Fired up both. Neither drone had the props on them so there was NEVER a risk to the manned aircraft.

I have the logs if DJI wants them.


When I talk to DJI support in the past they said Airsense is working perfectly on the Mavic 3 and I don't know what I am talking about.  

Airsense is broken in the app and not the drone. If you go back to app version 1.5.8, it will start working again, that is what I did.

You should be able to download the previous version .apk from the Dji download site.

Thanks,  I found the .apk, I copied the .apk to the RC Pro.

I went into settings and forced the existing Fly app to stop.

I then tapped on the .apk but in the end it says it was not installed and it appears to be correct. When I launch the Fly app and say check for updates it says I am up to date. I could not figure out where in the Fly app it tell me the current version.

Please tell me how to downgrade the Fly app.

Never mind, I figured out how to restore to factory settings which set the app to 1.5.8.

It looked like by doing so all my previous flight data was erased and had to login with my credentials again but I am OK with that.

We have had really bad weather since I downgraded.

No planes in the air.

I will test once weather improves.

There are planes in the air right now. I don't have my buddy's Air 2 so I cannot confirm they are transmitting ADS-B.

The RC Pro is reporting 0 planes in the area and I have downgraded the Fly app to 1.5.8 so I think the issue has to do with the FW on the M3.

I have confirmed the problem is NOT related to the Fly App.

When the Fly App is 1.5.10 AND the FW on the Mavic 3 is 1.00.04 I get ADS-B notifications.

If I update the FW on the Mavic 3 to 1.00.05 then there are NO ADS-B notifications.

So, if you want the additional safety that ADS-B notifications provide you must give up all the enhancements made in the 1.00.05 Mavic 3 FW upgrade.

Hopefully the new FW won't contribute to killing any people in manned aircraft.
