The epic tale of the ant mound in our pasture is played out from the time they wake from their winter slumber into the wild weather of spring in the Pacific Northwest. These brilliant little engineers battle the elements and fearsome bird attacks to construct colossal castles of twigs, flowers, and blades of grass.
I'm filming the timelapse with the DJI Action 2, which is absolutely perfect for the task. I intend to continue filming it throughout the summer and into the fall when the ants go into hybernation. In October I'll put together one long epic timelapse chronicalling the entire season!
