Well that was a big tease.....   Struggling to see what the picture is hinting at.  Maybe gimbal related?

It obviously has something to do with lens twisting to portrait mode.

Portrait/Landscape mode on Mini 3 camera?

Seems that way,  but its a very subtle way to show it I think.

Do you think the balls could indicate a waterproof coating too on the lens?

Quick question, is it the actual camera that turns or is it some software jiggery

The camera rotates 90 degrees.  To make it easier for those wanting to immediately post to social media, and viewing on a phone (exactly what the world needs more of, right?).

The reference to "a twist" and the image showing a rectangular shape rotating 90 degrees (landscape to portrait) is pretty clear to me.

Those "bubbles"...not so much.  New sensors?  Improved water-resistance?  My favorite idea (you heard the feature request here first....): internal bladders filled with helium to reduce overall weight...gotta use that wasted empty space for something, and internal helium bladders would allow greater payload while still keeping it under 250 grams.

Or maybe those "bubbles" were just added by a bored graphics department to make it prettier and more mysterious.

There is an innovative thought.  Bug-eye style camera looking all directions at once.  Able to concentrate on particular area with 4k-HD resolution.

Why have 90 degree rotation to be able to shoot vertical.
For anyone that's into such stuff, use your smart device, phone or tablet.
Unless I am missing something , I am not seeing this feature on the mini 3 pro
of being much use, seeing we all have by now cell phones with cameras built in.

If it’s like the Mavic pro the camera will turn.

Putting my smart phone on the drone for vertical video would put it over the 250g limit we have in the EU.

Is there such a thing ;+) I think it will be fine probably a few teething problems. Just hoping for big improvements so it will be a great drone to travel with. The fact it carries a pro badge hopefully it lives up to that..

I’d be happy with that and a gimbal that can maintain -90 degrees at slow speed.

For sure was a bit of a let down.

I liked the unboxing video leak from DM Productions so that will prove to a lot of naysayers that the Mini 3 Pro is real and will be released soon.  I will definitely buy on release day.

we dont really need anything official from dji except the actual launch.  not sure how other leaks have been but the mini3 leaks were quite substantial, entertaining, and comprehensive.  i really don't think we will learn anything big next week so for some of us, we can't wait to see the early yt reviews.

... who actually needs 4k vertical?  Which display shows 4k vertically?
The new RC probably doesn't have antennas on the "narrow" side, so will need to be held level as well.
Perhaps a vertical image section (special mode) would have sufficed???
I'm very curious to see how "useful" this function will be perceived...

Who needs 4k vertical?. I suppose drones were shooting 4k landscape long before there were any platforms showing 4k. I think they call it future proofing, I think it’s probably a bit gimmicky for many, but shooting portrait landscape photo in 48 mp single shot could be interesting if available. We have seen raw portrait shooting on Mavic 1 and it was a really good feature.

Thanks, guys, I myself will find absolutely no use whatsoever for that feature. I also hate it when i see portrait videos, why, for the love of all things holy, WHYYYYYYY! lol

Could the bubbles actually represent wide-angle (lens accessory)?

As for the wasted space and the helium idea, i think that space is intentional for better heat dissipation, but self buoyant with helium is a great idea lol not so sure a crash would be good mind ;)

Im pretty sure it will be used for vertical panos too,  so anything which is moving and this would be a great feature.

I'm confused...If the product release is date is supposedly the 10th of May, why not just buy it and do your own review on it, DJI will let you know if your successful between May 25 to May 30th then you have wait for the product to arrive, buy which time there will be hundreds of reviews on YouTube and other media platforms, plus you have to send it back, So is it really being released on the 10th? as it promotes " Try the latest DJI products before anyone else!"
