I went out to the Tallgrass Preserve early in April intending to find a senic spot to take a photo to send someone, but they had just burned the place. They do that to preserve the prairie and to prevent accumulation of fuel that would eventually burn in a terrible wildfire.

I had to try 2 other places before I found a place that was not burning to take my photo!

Nice spot by the river TT.  The vegetation grows so fast in the Spring and Summer, I guess it makes sense not to allow years of build-up of dry brush.

My timing was off and the moon was already total when I went out. All there was was a red blur that I could not see in the camera screen. So I just set the camera up and hoped. The tree turned out dramatic! The moon also passed behind a cool cloud, but that did not come out well in the video.
