Anyone using a skin on their drone?
Wrapgrade just released skins for the DJI Mini 3 Pro.

I've purchase the one for the Air 2s and it looks great!
I've found it help me locate the drone in the sky.

One of the early reviews I saw suggested that a skin might be enough to put you over the 250grams limit,  might be worth weighing it after its applied to check.

I inquired about this with them and they told me Amazon will have stock of their wraps in July. So going wait because shipping if ordered direct is expensive to UK.

It would certainly stand out.

I have used their skins on several drones and they fit perfectly and are well made.  Not that wrapgrade aren't but I've always had great luck this decalgirl wraps.

me too and i have one style in particular that i want.  any idea when decalgirl will have their mini 3 pro wraps ready?

it usually takes about 4 weeks for the item to show up on amazon once they show up in japan.  the amazon business is pretty responsive and pretty good with having all the options available if you email them.

No wraps for me as I like the look of the drone as is and don’t want to add any bit of extra weight to it as that would just decrease flight time.

There are also others, that are already available on Amazon.

I don't like to wrap my drones completely, but i have been creative today and made some vinyl cutting for my case and the Mini3P.

They’ve got great stuff!

They both have really good stuff but I've been using decalgirl for every drone so just going to stick with her products.  Usually get really quick shipments and they have fast and friendly customer service.

When I emailed the reply was soon.  So, hopefully that means late June or early July....but that is me speculating.  If memory serves me right it didn't take too long after the Air 2 and Air 2S were released before they had skins available.

Decalgirl skins measure just 5 mil thin (or five-thousandths of an inch 0.005), which makes them super lightweight.  The weight did not put the Mini 2 over the 249g weight category and as best I can tell never decreased length of flight.  They did help keep some birds away but not all.

Quite a bit cheaper, about US$15 for drone+remote including shipping to Canada.
Not sure about quality though.    And long shipping time as usual.

Curious, why don't they put anything on the sides? Kinda looks bare without them?

I'm in the UK and I've used Decal Girl before (they're based in the USA).

They don't stock the mini 3 pro skins yet, but I've just send them a message asking if they plan on it. Their quality is amazing! 100% recommend using them, if you don't mind waiting for them.

Hello Downtown. I purchased Decal Girl skins one time and have to say that Japan Wrapgrade skins are far superior. No comparison really and the detail to fit is second to none.

That's great news Flormo.  However, I have to say that decalgirl skins always fit perfectly and have had zero issues with them.  So maybe we both found our own winners.

I've ordered both and I can appreciate both.
The Wrapgrade have overlapping pieces to give you that seamless look.
I had the Decal Girl ones for my Mavic Pro 1 and I liked how the edges of the angular drone were visible.

- no not that I've noticed. I have the Wrapgrade Accents on my Air 2s and it didn't give me any heat warnings and that was flying it on a 30deg C day.

Or when you are applying them?
- They stuck on easily, however for curved sections I used a hair dryer to smooth out the bumps, which I seem to have to re-do after a few weeks.

But your Air 2S has a fan in it and the Mini 3 Pro does not.  Heat is a bigger issue with the Mini.

That's a really good point!!

I've had that warning pop up when it is just sitting on a table.
Does the Mini 2 have a fan inside?

I remember when I first flew the Mavic Pro, It wasn't far but I lost it against the sky.

I don't believe that any of the minis have fans but each mini has become more processor intensive and is generating more heat than previous version.

I kept hearing reviewers commenting that the mini 3 pro remained a lighter drone because they removed the internal fan.

Bought wrapegrade for my mini 2. Nice quality.
For the mini 3 the weight is 2gr for the partial skin and 6gr for the full skin (Wrapegrade information from internet site)

Do you think that weight estimate was inclusive of the original full-size backing?

For the full skin
Weight: Wraps=6g, Package=80g
Material: Polyvinyl chloride
Thickness: 0.12 mm to 0.17 mm (differs by surface finish including adhesive)

For the "half" skin
Weight: Wraps=2g, Package=35g
Material: Polyvinyl chloride

Yup. My go-to sticker company now for my drones. Did up the Air 2S and also the Mini 3 Pro. Stays on and the cut is precise just that my skills in applying the stickers need to improve.

Good point and I suspect they weigh over 1 gram
